Southwark Tigers Disciplinary Policy
It is the policy of the club to deal with players sent off or any reported breaches of the code of conduct as swiftly as possible. Ideally within one week.
- A disciplinary group (DG) will be convened to hear each case. Membership of DG will be agreed by the club committee (Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary) and consist of appropriate number of responsible adults with experience in the area of rugby club discipline.
- For hearings concerning players sent off the guidelines in the RFU Handbook are to be consulted. A referee's report should be obtained.
- The individual will be invited to attend the meeting. The meeting should be conducted in an informal manner. The setting should not be intimidating or too formal. The individual should be given ample opportunity to speak.
- The right of appeal (to Chairman of Kent Rugby Development Partnership or Disciplinary committee) should be made known.
- If the individual accepts the offence then appropriate penalty or sentence may be imposed.
- Any bans or penalties must be made clear to all concerned.
- The sentence must be communicated to Chairman of Kent Rugby.
- If the offence is not accepted then an independent panel of 3 will be convened in association with the chairman of the Kent Rugby Development Partnership to hear the evidence and decide the outcome.
